
NUTS ABOUT AESOP'S FABLES
Dear Students,
Today, you will read a story from Aesop's Fables.
At the end of this story, you will be able
to apply what you learned to real-life.
The Task
The objective of this lesson is to help you to understand that all living
creatures have needs. It is
important to know what you need to do in order to survive. Click
on the Website in the resource area to the pathway of knowledge.
Assignment 1
Read the story the "Ant and the Grasshopper". Write one paragraph
stating the lesson that was learned from reading the story.
Assignment 2
You will work together in groups to build and ant farm.
Assignment 3
Illustrate and write a one page report on your favorite grasshopper.
Assignment 4
Explain the differences and similarities between humans and animals
needs for shelter.

Aesop's Fables: The
Ant and the Grasshopper. In this fable, the Ant is trying to
teach the Grasshopper the need to save for an emergency. .
The Ants:
Ants need food and shelter just as humans.
The
Grasshopper: Grasshoppers need food just as humans.
Human Needs: Humans
have the same needs as ants and grasshoppers.

Where they live, and different types of ants.
Myths about Ants:
Exciting information that may or may not be true about Ants.
The Process
Step # 1
Read the Aesop's Fable "The Ant and the Grasshopper".
Step # 2
Summarize the lesson that was learned from reading the fable.
Step # 3
View the websites and do the assigned projects.
Step # 4
Compare and contrast the different habitats of humans and animals.
Learning Advice
The students will read the "The Ant and the Grasshopper" ,and they will
visit different web sites that will give additional information relating
to the story. This will help students learn a variety of lessons, opposed
to just one. Students should learn about the different habitats and behaviors
of the animals as well as the different types that exists. This will be
accomplished by doing reports and illustrations of the different animals.
The projects will give students more of a hands-on approach to learning
about the animals.
Conclusion
The students will be able to relate Aesop's Fables to real-life situations
and be able to include the
lessons learned in everyday life..
