Solving One-Step Equations
You are ready to start a variety of activities to help you in becoming proficient in solving one-step equations. Solving equations is a basic fundamental in Algebra I, so get ready to have fun and learn at the same time.
series of tutorial equations that must be looked at,
cooperative groups to work in,
problems to be solved,
games to be played, and
quizzes to be taken.
1. In this resource, the game Jeopardy allows you to have fun and learn how to solve one-step equations at the same time. It also allows cooperative learning to take place.2. You will go see various tutorials on solving one-step equations. This allows the learner to see the steps necessary to solve different types of equations.
3. In this section, Equations with Multiplication and Division, the learner can focus on one-step equations with multiplication and division only. This will allow you to get practice in another type of one-step equation so that when we complete this unit, we can move on to multi-step equations with more confidence.
4. This is an excellent tutorial that you can input your own equation. Every step will be shown on how they find the final answer. Remember, finding the correct answer is important, but at this point, learning the proper steps is of utmost importance.
5. This page is designed to help you better understand, work with, and solve equations. There are all types of equations with tutorials and quizzes, which are located at the end of each lesson.
1. In this resource, you will play the game Jeopardy. You can work cooperatively in a group. You will need to go to the end and copy off the Jeopardy board. The teacher will give you the problems to play with. Have FUN!2. You will go through various tutorials on solving one-step equations. At the end, you will take a quiz to see how well you are understanding solving the equations. Show the teacher your quiz results and she will let you know if you need to continue on with the tutorial.
3. In this section, you will work with and formalize the patterns for Equations with Multiplication and Division. You will follow through several examples and then work and check problems on your own. After this, you can choose several practice sessions to extend your work on these type of equations. Let the teacher know each time you begin a new practice session so he/she can determine how well you are progressing.
4. This is an excellent tutorial that you can input your own equation. You can start with one-step equations and move on to two-step once you have mastered the first part. Every step will be shown on how they find the final answer. Remember, finding the correct answer is important, but at this point, learning the proper steps is of utmost importance. The teacher will give you the equations to input and you should write on your paper each step shown in the tutorial.
5. This page is designed to help you better understand, work with, and solve equations. These are all types of equations with tutorials and quizzes at the end of each lesson. Please let your teacher know your score at the end of each quiz.
