1. Mother Goose has a very interesting history. Read the history of Mother Goose along with your parents. Here, you will also discover the true meaning of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes. Draw a picture about the story your parents read to you.2. Next, let your parents read to you several Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes and choose your favorite one to memorize. Using the one which you memorized, draw a picture of the characters in the rhyme. Explain to your parents why you chose that rhyme as your favorite one. You will have a chance to recite your favorite and show your picture in class.
3. Now that you have chosen your favorite Mother Goose nursery rhyme, you and your parent can enjoy taking a quiz on Mother Goose nursery rhymes. Your parent will read the quiz to you. As you are taking the quiz, let your parent keep up with the ones that you missed and discuss them together. At a later time, ask your parents for help finding the favorite nursery rhyme that you had chosen in the second task. Enjoy!!!!
4. Let's color a coloring sheet of your favorite Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme. You will need to find the coloring sheet, with the help of your parent, and print it out. Color the sheet and bring it to class to share with the other students. We will have a coloring contest the same day we wear our costumes.
5. Now that you have chosen your favorite Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme character, look at a picture of several characters to get an idea for a costume. You will need to be prepared to wear your costume on October 28th. We will use our digital camera to take a picture of you in your costume and it will be displayed in the hall for Parent/Teacher Conference.

Prior to beginning this lesson, the learner will need to be able have a knowledge of rhyming words. Because students at this level may not be able to read, the parents will need to assist the students with this project.
This lesson is designed to substitute dressing up on the day of Halloween. This project is designed to be prepared by the students with help of the parent. This preparation of this project will last about one week.
In the process where the students is to color a coloring sheet of their favorite mother Goose Nursery Rhyme character, it may be necessary to choose an alternative nursery rhyme. The child's favorite Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme may not be available in a coloring sheet.
The teacher needs to be aware of all the internet sites available about Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes. Since the children will be dressing up as his/her favorite Mother Goose nursery rhyme character, the teacher will need to be able to direct the role play of the character on this special day.
Online painting is also available on the link to the coloring pages within my WebQuest.
It will be necessary for the parents to help in this project. The parents will need to help the children with their costumes on this day as well as adding an audience for the children to role play in front of. Since this is a project announced by the school principal, it would be a great idea to invite him or her to the show as well!!!!!
