- Open "task5", which you created and save some lessons ago.
- Select all of the "Amount?" cells, and delete them. You want empty cells, because weĞre going to enter an "absolutely referenced" formula in cell B13, and drag it across the others, and let Excel fill in the formulae
correctly for us.
- Having cleared the contents of these cells, enter a formula in B13 which checks cell B6 against the lookup table, and decides how much bonus is payable. If you get stuck, refer back to the "VLOOKUP Function" lesson.
- This time, however, you are going to place a dollar sign in front of the range address (as you saw in the lesson).
- If you do this correctly, when you hit enter (telling Excel that you are finished), Cell B13 should still say that there is no bonus payable. Now drag this formula into the adjacent cells. They should all
calculate ciorrectly.
- If there is an error, check your formula, and check those dollar signs.
- Finally, save this spreadsheet as "task8" in your "Excel" folder.
