Adolescence and Self-Esteem

Adolescence and Self Esteem    This is a great web site showing the importance of the teenage years on a person's self-esteem.  The adolescent years can be extremely hard on one's self esteem, and it is important for parents (and others who are in close contact with teens) to be aware of those times of difficulty.  Understanding is the key to helping.

Adolescent Exams    This web site shows the importance of testing adolescents in a variety of areas.  Because of the importance of the teen years in the development stages of people, it is important that we make sure that our children are developing in the right ways.  The tests described here can be used for both physical and mental areas of development.

Self-Esteem In Children From Infancy To Adolescence    This web site is wonderful!  It helps parents understand what is happening with their children during different times in their development, especially during adolescence.  During adolescence, it is important for parents to be understanding so that their children will not have to try to fix problems with alcohol and other means.

Can Difficulties In School Cause Self-Esteem Problems?    This web site covers the problems with self-esteem in deaf students.  Because of the difficulties that most deaf students have with learning to read, the students are behind in reading skills.  This is not limited to deaf students however.  Anyone who is having trouble in school will have trouble in self-esteem areas as well.

Adolescent Friendships And Self-Esteem    Most adolescents spend a majority of their time with their friends.   Friends are there to help each other with self-esteem and emotional support.  Parental understanding is the key to helping children with their self concepts.  Sadly, most teen friends show more understanding than parents.
