This is a web page designed to inform educators on ways to deal with their students as they deal with Social Relationships.
1. Action Plan for Bullying: This site gives educators many steps in dealing with bullying in their classrooms. On this site are reasons why bullying occurs. If not handled, bullying can scare a child for life.
2. Building a Self Concept Map: In order to discover more about ourselves, we can look to Rokeach's (1973) belief-attitude-value system which suggests that a person's behaviors are best understood as being driven by the thousands of beliefs which form attitudes, individual values and self concept.
3. The Guidance Counselor is often a good place to look for ideas to handle the problems that students face. This site tells how one Guidance Counselor does it.
4. Encouraging Social Skills in Young Children: The purpose of this article is to review current thinking about young children's peer relationships and offer ideas and practices that teachers can suggest to parents concerned about their children's social development.
5. Development of Identity: Adolescence is the time to develop an initial identity status in many aspects of life. Failure to achieve an identity resulted in personal confusion (or diffusion) and a lack of direction.
